- Trace water analysis system for corrosive gas moisture analyzer
Water molecules exist in every corner in various forms. In modern industrial production, the production process requires more and more water. For example, during the polymerization of polyethylene, due to the characteristics of water, the catalyst will fail. In the production of chlor-alkali, water and chlorine gas combine to form acid, which seriously corrodes production equipment. Therefore, the control and detection of water becomes more important.
MM500 series corrosive gas trace water analysis system is designed for the problems existing in the analysis of trace water. It can fully meet the needs of chemical laboratory and online moisture analysis. The system consists of two parts, the preprocessing part and the host.
- Pretreatment system
The pretreatment system is mainly composed of a sampling system, a decompression system, a filtration system, a flow control system, a fast bypass system and a detection probe. The sampling system can ensure that the collected sample gas is representative. The filtration system filters solid particles above 1 micron. The sample gas connection pipeline is connected with polytetrafluoroethylene. The fast bypass system can increase the speed of sample gas circulation. Smooth pipe walls and high-quality fittings guarantee the fastest and most accurate analysis results. * Important analysis instrument is British MM500 corrosive gas trace water analyzer. Can measure water content in almost all corrosive gases such as: chlorine (Cl2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfuric acid gas (H2SO4), hydrogen bromide (HBr), sulfur dioxide (SO2), hexafluoride Sulfur (SF6), carbon dioxide (CO2), and phosphine (PH3).
The role of the pretreatment system:
- Filter mechanical impurities in the gas
- Extended probe life
- Controlled gas flow
- Easy instrument calibration
- Easy instrument maintenance
- Ensure the safe operation of the system
Features of the pretreatment system:
- Pipes are made of highly corrosion-resistant materials
- Use strong corrosion resistant flowmeter
- Anti-corrosion shut-off valve to ensure long-term use
- Sealed box and purge gas protection to ensure that secondary instruments are not eroded
- Pre-treatment cabinets are ventilated to prevent the accumulation of harmful gases.
The working principle of the analytical instrument:
Because electrolyzing trace water is a very small current, the circuit part uses high-tech solid-state computing circuits. Can guarantee the measurement is stable. * Small detection lines can reach several ppm. Measurement principle:
The phosphorus pentoxide electrode is based on the principle of generating hydrogen and oxygen by electrolyzing water, and the water content can be calculated by calculating the amount of electrolysis. The electrode consists of two metal wires wound on a glass rod in parallel at equal distances. Usually, platinum or rhodium is used. A thin layer of phosphoric acid solution is evenly coated between the metal wires. Galvanic decomposition of water into hydrogen and oxygen. The result of electrolysis is the final conversion of phosphoric acid to phosphorus pentoxide. Phosphorus pentoxide is a chemical substance that can strongly absorb moisture, and can absorb moisture in the sample gas. By constantly electrolyzing water, a balance is established between the moisture in the sample and the electrolyzed moisture. The current between the electrodes is proportional to the sample gas and water. The moisture content can be read on the display.
After a long period of use, the electrodes can be manually regenerated on site, eliminating the need to return to the factory for maintenance.
