The work of the detector is based on the principle of Wheatstone bridge balance, which has been taught in general middle schools.

The four arms of the bridge automatically maintain current balance, and the same heating wires are installed on these four arms. Two of the arms are used as reference ends, and the heating wire above is generally sealed in an inert gas to generate heat stably, and the current through which the resistance value is constant does not change.

The other two arms are used as the measuring end to pass the gas to be measured. Due to the difference in gas concentration, the amount of heat taken away from the heating wire is also different. The change of the heating wire heat causes the resistance value to change, and the current of the electric bridge also changes accordingly.

By comparing the deviation of the current at the reference terminal and the current at the measuring terminal, the corresponding concentration of the measured gas can be obtained.
